Hi,

I am really new in this.

I have a SNMP agent in Linux (net-snmp). I have my MIB
in the /usr/share/mibs directory, and I didn't manage to understand where and how do I put the values of the fields in the MIB? The values are static, so the agent need to return the same value in each SNMP GET request.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

Hello,
with the new MIB installed your manager is now capable of translating the oids present there to a more human readable format, but it's not able to respond to such oids demands. To obtain this purpose you have to develop an snmp agent which handles the requests for the objects you wish to respond. In the webpage of the netsnmp project they have a simple agent development kit, which may help you to develop the software. There are also some agents kit development as the Emanate SDK (sadly it is not free ;) ).

I hope this helps.

Lander.
