Well we just got a cable modem over here (comcast cause thats the ONLY choice we have in west-bumblephuck here). Anyway after testing on various speed sites the results were in the range of 1500/1600kb down. After installing and configuring the BEFSR41 Router, all of a sudden the 800kb/down barrier apparently cannot be broken....

Bottom line, is there any way I can remedy this situation other then putting a bullet in my own head at this bloated expensive ::cough:: "service"?

Did you try upgrading the firmware for your router ?

Do you have more than one client hooked up to the router at when you do the speed tests? Also, if you go into the Linkysus Routers settings...ther is a feature called MTU...does your MTU have any numbers next to it? The default says it should be off. Watch Linksys' site...they update their firmware monthly.

why dont you try and ask your ISP their exact MTU and apply that on the MTU settings on the router. that would be a great help...hope so.
googd luck!!! c",)

c4pone,
if enabling and changing the size of your MTU does not work try to upgrade the firmware of your router...try to check the linksys site. hope that would be a great help.... "cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee ." Genesis 27:29
