Hi Gang,
I have an SBS 2003 system (IBM X206) and it beeps every 5 minutes. The beep sounds like a system beep, not a chime or windows sound. I've check our raid disks, they are listed as optimal according to the RAID controller, there aren't any error messages in the event viewer, and looking through the services, everything that is automatic is running. All of the devices listed under device manager appear normal, no mention of a bad driver. while I'm in the raid manager or bios the beeps do not surface, however once the server is up, the beeping is noticable. What should I try next in terms of trouble shooting?

Sounds like an indicator which would normally be triggered to make it easier to find the machine in the rack. I don't know squat about IBM hardware, but there may be a button on the front to shut it up.

I would look for some sort of mother board monitoring software. I have a Tyan board that had some crap monitoring software installed and it monitored temps, voltages, and what not. It would beep all the dang time. Turns out the monitoring tolerance was set to tight on one of the temp warnings.

Check to see if you have any software that monitors fan speeds, SCSI BIOS batteries etc. I recently had a similar problem and the root cause was a CPU cooling fan running too slow.

I hope you find this post helpful.
