I have an xp 2200 and a ASRock k7vm2 motherboard with 512mb sdram, I just got a geforce 2 card from a friend that pulled it out of a dell, when I plug in the card into the agp port it gives ne multiple short beeps, no signal to the monitor and i dont know what to do, Ive tried many times to see if the card isnt set in all the way but it is, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You All In Advance,
Ill Empire

Those beeps are coming from your mother board, check the documentation and it will tell you what it represents.

I am guessing that the video card is bad, but that is just a guess.

Try also re-seating your memory to make sure they are firmly in place.

Make sure the heatsink is firmly attached and seated properly on the CPU (this isn't causing beeps, but always good to make spot checks when you are in the case).

Try another video card (like the old one you had to see if the system POST's).

Let us know what the result of those are...

Cheers!

I assumed that he had already been able to boot the PC using the onboard video. If that is not the case, then rip out the video card and start there.

I just took the video card down toi my workplace and tested it, the video card's internal proccessor is blown so I need a new video card, so thanks everyone for tyhe help. No regarding pieeater;s questions and comments, if the video card was working fine and themn the next morning it wouldnt work then the video card burned out, did you wear a wrist strap when installuing the video card??? if you did then all I can tell you is that your computer burned it.... let me know what happens with that...
