Hi,

Im running W2k sp4 with veritas backup exec 9.1
I upgraded from 9.0 to 9.1 sp1
I installed a new server and want to backup it, so i pused a agent (rant32) to the selected server.

I tray to backup the server but in the backup selection list it is grayd out. I can see the directory's with files but cant't select any. it gives the info that the remote agent is running normaly.

If i right klik on the server and select properties it this problem with another server to.

The log of the remote agent looks good no errors, the event log is clean of veritas erros aswel.

the things i did:

- canged the port numbers.
- server is accasabel from the media backup server.
- addid the veritas backup user to the local admin group

Hase anyone got a anser?
Im stuk agenst the wall :(

Jeff

I think i have found the problem.
I think i's the replication service.
With dcdiag i get a error on the frssysvol:

Starting test: frssysvol
Error: No record of File Replication System, SYSVOL started.
The Active Directory may be prevented from starting.
......................... DCDEKKER passed test frssysvol

So firs ging to fix this problem, any one know's how?

Veritas problem whas solved by doing the folowing:

on the remote server go to

c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\services
(open with notepad)

And a the folowing rule:

ndmp 9000/tcp #Network Data Management Protocol

Reboot the server and problem is solved.

Gr Jeff
