Hello,

I recently installed a new server, and at that time I replaced our Veritas 8.6 with 10.x

Love the new XLM interface.

But, if I want to find out specifically which tapes were used for a particular job, and in what order (so I can manage them properly), how do I do that?

Thank-you!

-David

Under the Job Monitor tab you can open Job History of one of the backup jobs. Look under Job Log and then Device and Media tab.
Gives information like Drive, Slot and Media Label.

Hope this helps

Hi David,

Thank-you for taking the time to respond to my question.

I did see the Media Label there. Do you know if it will show ALL media used here? Can I depend on that to show me if it uses more than one tape in the tape library?

Thanks!

-David

I think you will have to check the job log on each backup to find out which media is used for each job.
I created media sets for two weeks of jobs and labeled them Monday1, Monday2 etc. and then assigned them to backups jobs I created with the same name. That way I can just browse the media tab and see which slots have the appropriate tapes for each days backup job.
Hope this helps,
David

You must have one hell of a tape library! :) Mine only holds 9 tapes, one of which I use for the cleaning tape.

I've got "IT Guy Envy"
