Not sure if this is the correct forum since related to call pilot.
We are going to upgrade this weekend and need to know what to expect. 150 users need to be notified in advance.
1. Does anyone know if the passwords to mailboxes can be retained or at least default to 0000?
2. Will recorded nAmes, greetings, and messages be lost?
3. Will the old unified messaging client still work?
4. Day and night messages retained?
5. If not, can they be retored from a backup?

Thanks in advance.

Opps, just noticed my typo. BDM400 should be BCM400.

The best advice I can give is to tell them the messages will be deleted. The last couple upgrades I have done using the latest version of DMM worked almost flawlessly. The ones previous to that were hit and miss. The names, and greetings have always migrated. You will need to reinstall the unified messaging clients with the latest version. The passwords will reset to the number of your choosing. Backups will only work on the 400.

Thanks bluemr2 for the advice. Good to har that the pasword can be set to a known and names and greeting retained.

Were can i get the latest version of DMM. I have checked the new Avaya site and could not locate it. Thanks.

My vendor had a copy. It resides on the BCM450

Make sure it is DMM 1.1.1 (available for beta???) if you have IP sets, both for the port of data off the BCM 4.0 and the port of data back onto the BCM450. DMM 1.1.0 will fail to port over the IP sets well, and cause many problems with the telephony configuration as a result.

Also don't forget to ensure DMM prerequisites are met on the 4.0 & 450. I tend to apply the latest system updates on both. Also don't apply the data through the OAM port on the 450.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a link or a place were i can get the DMM 1.1.1 I just got DMM 1.1.0 from a new BCM450 6.0. I found DMM 1.1.0 on Avaya web site but not the DMM 1.1.1. Thanks.

It will fix issue where you have IP sets to move. I'll try to post it up tomorrow.

This is currently beta, and is not general available (GA) yet. However it appears to resolve issues with telephony config where IP sets are keycoded.

If I had an upgrade to do, I would definately be using DMM 1.1.1 for both the extraction and application, not DMM 1.1.0.

However you wont be able to report any faults until it is GA.

regards
paul
