I have several employees that have only Guest mailboxes only and need AA to answer and trf through directory or by dialing DN and in turn redirect to India unknown to the caller. Where theres a will there must be a way? Thanks everyone for any ideas.

Earl

without extensions, CCR - external transfer, i think, will be the only option

unknown to the caller - why?

No problem dialing a Guest Mbox out of the AA. Then use Outbound Transfer to send call anywhere, including India.

Be careful of fraud. Use 8 digit passswords and make them change monthly.

senk1s,
They the customer do not want you the consumer to know your call has been been routed out of country.

Deweyhumbolt,
I am not following you on this. Maybe i am not understanding process? I cannot let on that calls are being transferred out to India or anywhere and in this case they would have to dial 7, YES?

Thanks Earl

No way out of a Guest Mbox but Outbound Transfer. All you have to tell the caller is press 7. I'm sure you can find language that would allow that w/o the caller thinking there being transferred abroad.

I guess you could have the caller press *DN of a telephone you had forwarded to India. But 7 is easier than *221.

Dewey,
I agree with you but customer being beyound unreasonable. "(The salesman guaranteed me it can do whatever I want.)" 7 = unexcepable!

Sorry, can't help you.

You could make a Path off the CCR tree, "Press 1 for Customer Service," which could Externally Transfer to India. As long as you use Menus in the CCR tree you can make it happen, but not by DN # to a Guest Mbox.

Dewey,
I must say we think alike? Tried that too! Works for you and I but not them. I know the answer but felt I should put out the feelers before throwing in the towel. Thanks

When you say several employees, do you mean 10 or 100? You could setup fake ip phones(i2050)with "Keep Dn Alive" option check and "Forward all calls" to the India number. That way a call coming in, answered with AA, then dialing the "offline"(I2050)Dn will be redirect to the external number.I didnt test if its working after a bcm reboot but you might give it a try.

gberger,
I like it alot and will recommend a trial period to my supervisor. Thank you sir,

Earl

If DID scenario. Set up a phone in the Telecom room for that DN associated with the guest mailbox. then line redirect to the Foreign Exchange.

Or bring them over to become a citizen, earn wages & pay taxes.

Keep Dn Alive, dies after a reboot, but gberger has a viable plan if you get some IP Client licenses.
