we have a major problem an our BSM50a, after we join two externals call on post <t7316E> between the called and the caller, when they end their communication.
the STNADARD BCM50 won’t release the externals lines, when we try to open the two lines on the post, it displays <Line In Use>.
The question here: is this problem a bug on the system or a missed configuration .
We tried a lot of thing but the problem remains. PLS help us

The first question I have is what kind of "lines" are you using?. Analogue or PRI or perhaps a mixture of both.

Also if the lines are analogue are they loop or ground start and if loop, are they set to loop guarded or loop unguarded?.

In the UK, we generally set them to loop unguarded as the caller controls the call and therefore will be paying for the call until they clear down whereas I understand that lop guarded means that either party can end the call after clearing down.

You might if having loop lines consider altering the "loss package" timer as mine is set to Medium CO.

Or if you are in North America under lines should be set to "Supervised"....we also use Medium CO.

The Carrier must also have Supervision turned on, some call it Cut Off on Disconnect now (COD)

first of all thanks for all your reply
about the line we use , they are Analog Loop<Trunk(GATM)>. i have played with a lot with the parameters you mentioned (Supervise,Disconnect Timer<Default:460>,loss package<Default:Medium CO> ), but i got nothing
about the external line i experienced with they are coming from a local Telephony System<Nortel 51C>
NB:
Nortel 51C don't have this problem at all

There's your problem. The Option is not providing the DS signal required by the BCM to release the lines.

the type of the external line that i have set in the BCM50 is an Analog Line, and the source of this line is as i mentioned before <Nortel 51C> but note that i tested
as-well with public external line

I work on both the BCM / Norstar and the Option 11 -81 / CS1000 ranges. The Option range supports a variety of options such as cleardown timers.

The BCM / Norstar was designed to be more customer friendly but had less options to make changes in certain areas and analogue trunks was one of them.

It might however, be possible to make changes in the RDB on the timer area in the Option 51 system. The issue is to do with the disconnection time. Can you post out the routes RDB here. Also the TN's used as there are settings in there.
