Does anyone have any idea how to redirect a BCM50 on pstn lines to an external number. I have tried F84 and this does not seem to send the calls back out. The call still rings in the office.
If you have truly forwarded the phone, there is no ring count you get a short ring on the phone and thats it.
From your answer below your are fording the phone twice, the 2nd one is canceling the 1st one.
"I am then forwarding the prime set to an external number (lets say 9123)."
----------------------------------------------------------
You are trying to change Call forward no answer, that is not the same a call forward. Your confusing yourself.
"I am then going into global setting and changing the amount of rings on forwarding to 1 (just to test)"
----------------------------------------------------------
You already did this above.
"I then set F4 on the prime set"
Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
Creat a Call Forward button on the phone (f4), hit the CFW button a enter 91234567 then hit CFW button again then look at display and it should say forwarded.

This was taken from a user guide. I find Call forwarding quicker then Line Redirection. With Line Redirection you have to do each Line, with Call Forward 1 button does it all.
Call Forward
When you use Call Forward, all calls go to the destination you select, regardless of Forward on
busy (CFB) and Forward no answer (CFNA) feature programming.
To forward calls:
1 Press F4
2 Enter the number of the telephone to which you want your calls forwarded.
To forward your calls to an external destination you must enter the route plus the dialing digits of
the external telephone. For example, if you need to dial 9 for external calls, then you must enter 9
plus the dialing digits to forward your calls to an external number.
Alternatively, you can use Line Redirection to forward calls outside the system. Line Redirection
takes priority over Call Forward.
Cancel Call Forward
Press F#4 to cancel Call Forward.
To allow external destination programming you need to start a Unified Manager session. You must
assign Program Allow redirect to Yes for each telephone. For more information about
programming using Unified Manager, see the Business Communications Manager Programming
Operations Guide.
If the telephone to which you forwarded your calls does not have the same external lines as your
telephone, the forwarded calls appear on intercom buttons.
Forwarded calls do not ring but the line indicator flashes on the telephone. You can answer the call
by pressing the button next to the flashing indicator.
Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
I appreciate all of your help on this issue, but it still does not work. This is a PSTN system and forwarding does not seem to work at all. Has anyone tried forwarding a PSTN BCM50 before and have they suceeded?. Please tell me how you didi this?
Here's something you can try under capabilities change your forward on busy to the telephone number with the 9 as the lead digit, and put the phone in DND.
