Does anyone have any idea how to redirect a BCM50 on pstn lines to an external number. I have tried F84 and this does not seem to send the calls back out. The call still rings in the office.

Thanks

Read the instructions on Line Redirection in the Feature Guide and make sure that you are setting it up properly. Keep in mind that you must have Allow Redirect Y for the extension.

I have done this and have also spoken with Crane Tech about this and we are totally stuck. Can you tell me exactly what you are doing please?

Again, Allow Redirect must be set for Y on the extension.
When you press F84 from the phone it asks you for a line out. This depends upon your configuration. You may have to select the intercom if you have a PRI. Enter a 9 or the destination code that you dial to make a call out, then enter the telephone number. Then select the line that you want to redirect. F#84 removes the redirection.

Thanks again, but i have tried this with Crane Tech and they nor i can get it to work. It is only PSTN coming in and not pri. i am doing the following;

a) From the handset key in Feature 84
b) The handset displays ‘Select Line Out’
c) Press Intercom
d) Key in external number including access code ‘9’ (where used)
e) Press OK to confirm (or Hold where OK cannot not displayed)
f) The handset displays ‘Select Line(s)’
g) Press the key programmed with the Target Line or key with line programmed
h) Press OK to confirm (or Hold where OK cannot not displayed)

This then holds the redirect, but the phones do not redirect. They just keep ringing in the office...

Are you trying to redirect 1 Line or all Lines or are you trying to redirect just 1 phone?.

If I'm trying to redirect all lines somewhere else, I use F4 to Call forward the Main Phone that has all the Lines on it and make sure ine Redirecttion is (YES) on that phone.

To activate hit Call Forward button enter 9xxxxxxxx.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

No, the setup is all 4 lines ring all 4 phones, all phones have the pstn lines associated with them. Therefore i can't F4 the phone. I am trying to divert the main number out on 1 line. So line 1 takes the first incoming call and then redirects back out on line 4 to the new destination.

Thats all.

Make 1 phone the prime for all Lines and that phone will control all lines for Call forward.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Did you setup a route? This feature won't work w/ Line pool codes. You must use a destination code and routes.

Not true, it will take a pool as long as a pool code is assigned (tested and verified).
Scottg30, have you verified that Allow Redirect is set to Y?

I guess your not understanding what I said, I do this a 60 sites and it works al the time.

Assign all line the same Prime phone.

Add a Call forward button to it (f4)

Make sure Line redirct is allowed for the Prime phone

Hit CFW Button and enter your accesscode uasually 9 and the number and as soon as you do that the phone will dial that number to confirm that it is set right.

We usually have 8 Lines at each site and make 2221 the Prime phone and about 8 other phones also hvae the 8 Lines on them. We just use 2221 to forward all the lines where ever we want.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Ace, I was referring to Onyx1 about F84 not working with line pools.

Hi Guys,

I have tried this and it still does not work!!

the setup is 4 PSTN lines coming into a BCM50 with 4 phones. All lines are assigned to all phones. Thats it.

They want to be able to divert calls out if they go out of the office.

Please help

Maybe I'm missing something. It is possible since I am going on 3 1/2 hours sleep today. Tell us step by step exactly what happens after you have redirected the line. For example, you have followed the instructions in your reply above and I call in. What happen exactly?

It just keeps ringing into the office and does not divert out at all.

When you follow those instructions, does it say <Programmed> in the display? Can you tell us step by step how you are setting this up? Include destination codes etc. but you don't have to give us the number you want to redirect to.

I am configuring the 4 DN's 201.202,203 and 204 with lines 061-064 assigned to each phone.
I am then configuring each line with the prime set of 201.
i am then allowing re-direct on extension 201.
I am then forwarding the prime set to an external number (lets say 9123).
I am then going into global setting and changing the amount of rings on forwarding to 1 (just to test)
I then set F4 on the prime set.
when i phone in all phones still ring!!

what am i doing wrong?

I thought you were trying F84 which is line redirection. Does the phone say Forward>9XXXXXXX?
