BCM50 newbie here,

I am trying to add and setup a mailbox. When I ADD it, there is only the "information" type shown, and not the subscription. Is there a reason for that, and how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance.

I guess I should add that you may have subscriber mailboxes defined in your CallPilot that no one's using. If so you can delete an unused subscriber mailbox and one will be available to add.

bcmfiftyfan,

Thank you, but can I do that from a handset? And how? My predecessor changed the login on the server, and didn't tell anyone or write it down. (nice) SO, I am limited right now to using the handset to do what programming I can. Plus, it's my bleeping mailbox I'm trying to set up!! :)

Thanks again bcmfiftyfan,

It's not that we don't have mailboxes available, it's just my extension number that doesn't work. Do you know if I can change my handset # so I can use a mailbox # that is the same? Is that a hardwire thing on the BCM50 or is it flexible? The port on the wall is labeled xxx and that's my extension #. From looking at the box, I should be able to renumber it, yes?

If you see "information" when you press ADD then all subscriber mailbox keycodes are used. If there's an extension that no one's using that has a mailbox assigned to it, delete that mailbox then add one that matches your extension number.

It would probably be a good idea to have an experienced BCM technician come out for an hour and give you a few pointers.

Yes, you can renumber extensions in System Programming. You mention that your extension number doesn't work. Please be more specific.

I agree bcmfiftyfan, that's a great idea. If I could login to the server, I'd be OK, but I don't know the handset commands, and what I've found on the web is sparse at best for doing stuff at the handset.

Thanks again,

Eric

The BCM50 Telset Administration Guide has lots of information about programming from a phone. Good luck to ya.

bcmfiftyfan,

Thanks a lot for your help! I ended up deleting an unused mailbox (I hope) and setting it up for myself. It'll have to do for now. I did find a sticker on one of the phones of the original installer, hopefully they have some insight for me.

Thanks again!

Time to golf!
