BCM50 UPGRADE

1. Can you put a BCM50 R1 Hard Drive in a BCM50 R2 Unit ?

2. Can you Put a BCM50 3.0 FACTORY IMAGE-UPG KI (Mfr. Part #: NTAT0144) on a new drive ? will it work ?

Key codes maybe different. Not sure where the key codes are stored on a 50 as a 400 has them on the MSC.

You can put a rel 1 hard drive on to a rel 1 base unit
rel 2 hard drive on to a rel 2 base unit .

I have replaced hard drives like this already.

When the Hard drive is installed and factory reset done then the system takes the keycode from the baseunit.

Restore your backup and the keycodes will be reloaded.

The image is only used for un upgrade from rel1-rel2- to rel3 which requires an UPGRADE keycode and is done via GET NEW UPDATE link in Element Manger

I have a blank 80 gig ATA Drive.

You have to order a Release 2 replacement hard drive from Nortel.For some reason they don't want us to re-image them ourself.
