Our company bought the BCM 50 system last year and we now find ourselves in a position where we cannot programme the system to use it to its full potential. The basic instruction is ok but we find that some of the advanced features we cannot do. For example we are unable to change the introduction message on an extension asking people to leave a message as the person they require is not available. We cannot change the number of rings to an extension before it is automatically diverted to another extension if unanswered, we cannot change the options for customers dialling our main number where they have a choice of selecting different departments by pressing 1, 2 or 3, we also have a problem in that some of the phones have voice mail messages on and we cannot get them off as we do not know the access codes, or they have been changed and the person has now left the company who used that phone. Is there a proper manual for this system that can help us.
 
If it is on your network the Doc's are on the BCM. Go to the IP address to see.If not it sounds like you need a tech to help you do all the changes you want.

Start by paying your vendor to send in a tech for 4 hours. Prepare a list of things you want to understand how to do.

When the tech arrives....TAKE NOTES. Create your own manual such that you can understand it (use whatever jargon you wish).

If you fail to plan, you have planned to fail.
