thread1361-1503089

The above thread was about whether analogue trunks would work on a UK Rls 1 BCM50 without using an expansion unit if the box was upgraded to Rls 2 and analogue keycodes were applied. The conclusion seems to be yes, but there was a lot of difference of opinion.

I am interested if Toomii (who opened the thread) or anyone else (apart from Snowman50) actually prooved this in practice (on a UK system).

Out of ignorance, I bought a BCM Rls 1 off ebay not knowing about this analogue trunk issue). So im in the same boat.......

Regards,
Bob

you can use up to 4 POTS lines on the main cabinet with key codes anymore than that and you need to use an expantion unit

Yes I have upgraded UK BCM 50 Rls 1 to Rls 2.0 and then you can use analogue trunks (and the 4 on board analogue extensions).

All you will need are the appropriate keycodes.

The Release 1 systems have all the hardware needed for this, but it wasn't enabled until release 2 software

As above, it can also be done by getting hold of a release 2 image as you can use the same keycodes!. My test BCM 50 system works fine on analogue lines and also analogue extensions.

Please contact me if you need more help and also take a look at this below.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Just for the record, I upgraded to Rls 3 (same price as upgrading to Rls 2) added the analogue license and the on-board trunks work fine.
