I have a customer that upgraded to Microsoft Outlook 2007. CallPilot Unified Messaging worked fine with the Outlook 2003. After the upgrade, any PC connected to the network internally works properly. If their laptops are outside the system, the Call Pilot software will cause Outlook to fail to launch. Any ideas? Thank you.

What version is your CallPilot Unified Messaging ?

If its not broke tweak it..

I was referring to the version of the Client application your workstation

either way the latest version is 5.00.41.57.9

I'm running it with no problems on outlook 2007 I suspect you need to patch up your system and download the new client application

The following patches will be needed..

BCM050.R300.SU.Desktop-152.200901
BCM050.R300.SU.System-151.200901

If its not broke tweak it..

Thank you TLDuk. i will try that and post the results.

For any laptop that is used outside the network, make sure "Remember Password" is not ticked in CP Desktop Messaging Properties.

Otherwise CP will hang Outlook for >15 minutes while it decides it can't find the BCM. Most annoying...

Also, if you have a client VPN to the office, just make sure that is connected before you open outlook. Also, you will have your access to VMail at home. Lastly, you can use message forwarding, and uninstall the callpilot desktop messaging if you use forwarding. I have my setup that it will mark my messages as read via read receipt. I had to make an A Record to resolve the FQDN of the BCM to get it working, but it is really nice.
