Trying to setup backing up to a network folder on a Windows 2008 server and it does not work

Full computer name: testts01.test.local
Domain: test.local
Shared drive for backups named backup
user name: bcm50
IP address: 192.168.10.10

Network folder: \\testts01\backup
User:test\bcm50
Password: XXXXX
Directory is empty

When I press test all I get is a failed

What am I entering wrong

try it by ip incase name is not getting resolved. As you are trying a direct share I would not expect a problem. If you try \\ipaddress\sharename\down_another_level you would expect to receive a samba error so you are quite rightly doing a direct network share

you could try pinging from the bcm

i had the same problem.
Try the following
Network Folder: \\testts01
Directory \backup\

it should be working.

Or if that doesnt work try
Network Folder: \\testts01
Directory \backup\/

Hope this helps

Thanks, pkello, and knbink, but after trying your suggestions, I still get a failed when I press the test button.

I changed servers in my office from a Windows 2003 server that worked with no problem to the new windows 2008 server, and now have these problems.

Any other suggestions out there?
I can log into the 2008 server with no problems.
