I have installed a BCM50 with 2 expansions. The DSM32+ came up fine, however the DTM module doesn't seems to be able to get past the enabling... stage.

The DTM is in the port labled 2 and the DSM32+ is in the 3rd slot. Below are a couple of erros i pulled. Can someone help me ???

Core Telephony - Unable to process calls.

Core Telephony - Media Bay Module firmware download failed.
Core Telephony - BRI module is primary clock instead of DTM module.

Core Telephony - Cold restart has occurred causing loss of telephony data.

Core Telephony - Media Bay Module firmware download failure.
.
Core Telephony - "Unavailable Seconds Error" long term alarm threshold has been
exceeded on the DTM.

Core Telephony - Persistent Data Repository corruption in the market profile area.

Core Telephony - Failure to download market profile/protocol data from the Persistent Data Repository.

Have you tried to disable and then reenable the card?

several times. I am not onsite, I have however done a complete reboot as well. Still just says "enabling.."

Have you tried to switch expansion cabinets? Put the DTM in the other cabinet?

There are 4 ports on the front of the BCM50 cabinet

from left to right:

port1: OAM or tech port

port 2: Lan port

port 3: expansion 1

port 4: expansion 2

check these ports

Don't forget about the EXPANSION UNIT POWER INTERRUPT issue that Nortel has with the BCM50. Remotely changing the enable/disable status as well as rebooting the main cabinet does not help this issue. You need to be onsite to physically remove power from the expansion cabinet. At some sites I have had to disconnect power from the main cab and expansion cabinet for 15 minutes before it will recognize all expansion cabinets:

BACKGROUND
BCM50 systems that are not protected by uninterruptible power supply sources will reboot when
power returns following a power outage. If the power interruption is very short, BCM50
expansion units may not synchronize correctly to the main unit.
ANALYSIS
BCM50 systems when equipped with expansion units may not synchronize correctly when
rebooting following a very brief loss of power (less than 10 seconds). If the system does not
synchronize correctly, the main unit will not recognize the MBM in the expansion.
RECOMMENDATIONS
If a BCM50 system with expansion unit does not resynchronize correctly following a momentary
loss of power, functionality of the expansion module can be restored by removing power from the
expansion unit for at least 30 seconds and then re-applying the power to the system.

leprechaun you my friend were on the right track. After many phone calls i found that the tech had the RJ45 plugged into the wrong outlet on the exp mod. He moved to the correct port and it all synced up. The outlets on the core were correct, but in the wrong outlet on the exp mod..

You guys are invaluable.. thanks.
