I just replaced the drive in a BCM50 (both are at the same version) - However the license key will not load (no error messages either). I think this may be because the old key started with a sequence of 4, and the new OS shows sequence 0. I tried changing this to 1 and renaming the file to SYSTEMID_01.lic and still no-go.

Both systems are showing the correct System ID

Below is the OLD key - Any ideas?

SystemId: 0016CA3F10C8
Sequence: 4
KeyType: 2

# VM seat

Have you tried a Levl 2 reset and then loading the codes?

I've just looked on the Avaya KRS site and there isn't any keycode generated for 0016CA3F10C8.

Check the MAC address on the motherboard inside the BCM system. You should also see it in the keycode section.

Have you got any backups from the system as the keycode file can be extracted from there.

Word of warning, any modification made inside the licensefile will cause it to fail to verify. You are OK in renaming it but not altering the contents.

If it don't show on the KRS then odds are you got some of the bootlegged codes that were going around. It should still work on the system until you add a new one from avaya then you will lose any of the old codes.

and the new OS shows sequence 0"
What is OS?

The next Sequence # should be one higher than the old, in your case it would be 5 on the new LIC file.

Double check that SystemId: 0016CA3F10C8 matches what you see in Element Manager
Maybe the vendor generated against the wrong system id.

Got it fixed - The old hard drive was a 2.0 and was upgraded to a 3.0 - When I replaced the drive I ordered a 3.0 drive - Somehow the OS upgrade code caused that license key not to work -- I don't agree with this, but I already had a spare 6.0 chassis with no licenses at all on it, so i just moved these licenses over to that chasis and got the system up

Thanks for the support!

tech just know that if you add any codes to this system you will lose what is already there because the KRS shows this as having no codes at all.
