Hello;

We recently installed a BCM50 to replace a 450 and are having only 1 issue. Just as a background this system has a local PRI and is connected to a gigabit LAN and talks to the CS1000 over a dedicated T1 network.

Our issue is that at this site, for no apparent reason, a user's 1140 IP Phone will say "Line in use by xxxx" where xxxx is another extension in that office.

The only thing in the alert log is a round trip delay message stating that the RTD was 42ms. Our network averages 20ms and is RARELY congested. QoS is setup to allow voice priority obviously but I keep thinking this issue is local.

Has anyone had any similar issues? Suggestions?

Version 6.0.2.05.237

BCM monitor doesn't show any lines busy but will check the next time it is reported so I can look at that exact moment.

Port Based QoS in the LAN & also WAN QoS on the cisco Routers.

Below is an example of a port with an 1140;

interface GigabitEthernet0/9
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 2
switchport voice vlan 55
mls qos trust cos
spanning-tree portfast

I gave you a config from a wrong switch, here's the correct;

interface GigabitEthernet0/19
switchport access vlan 114
switchport mode access
switchport nonegotiate
switchport voice vlan 170
priority-queue out
mls qos trust dscp
spanning-tree portfast

Ok. The IP phones use DSCP natively (using code point 40). You can set up QOS based upon that as well.

Let us know what you find regarding the BCM Monitor.
