We have a BCM50 in Europe that was upgraded to Version 6.0.2.05.237. The other change that was made recently was allowing Remote Access Package for the IP Trunks. I initially removed the remote access package settings that were assigned to the 4 VoIP Trunks. I then verified the H.323 Setting for G.711 Payload….which is set and should be set at 40ms. I have experimented with changing this setting to 30ms and 50ms and it doesn’t work or resolve the issue. I have went through line by line with our other BCM50 in Geneva and have not found the variance. I have rebooted the BCM50 & the Media Card & Sig Server which it interfaces to for 5-Digit Dialing. I have verified that our other site in Geneva is able to call our sites with Signaling Servers. I am not finding a “System Setting” that is out of place.

At this point, I cannot find any setting that would be causing this issue. It would appear to be a Software incompatibility…so I am researching that as well. Anybody have any ideas? Do I have to upgrade the Sig Server and Media GW Card Software and Firmware to a certain release to work with version 6.0.2.05.237? The firmware on the Media Card is 8.2. The sw is IPL 4.00.55.

Thank you,

Bryan

So Bryan what IS the actual problem? I make it a habit to set my sampling rates for G.711 and G.729 to 20ms as it is the default in the larger CS1000 signalling servers.

But to your post.. You didn't really post a question that I can see.

Sorry...the issue is that when calls are made from the BCM50 in question to the site with an 11C and a Sig Server....the called party(11C Resident)cannot hear the caller (BCM50 Caller).

Are you using a gatekeeper? More than likely changing to 20ms sampling will solve the issue as they are the default rates on the signalling server.

It is a voice payload mismtach (90% chance). Between the BCM50 and Node. Check your settings in Element Manager and the BCM.

FYI: you may also experience faxing issues in the new version... it enables fax detect... should be off. Just an FYI. :)
