Hi,

Our IP Phones (Avaya 1120E's) are intermittently gaining and losing connection to our BCM50. The ability to access the BCM via BCM Monitor and Business Element Manager is also intermittent. We have some analog phones which seem to be operating properly. Interestingly, overnight the IP phones were able to maintain their connection with the BCM, but they dropped off this morning once people started coming into the office, although this could be a co-incidence. On the alarms there is no indication that the system is rebooting. Also, we have been having some issues with our SIP trunks where our registration is failing - not sure if this is being caused by the hardware failing or whether the registration failing is causing the problems with the BCM.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Tim

Sounds like you're having some trouble with your network to me. Are the IP phones and the BCM at the same location? What software level are you running? Do you have a separate VLAN for the IP phones? Try to provide a little more details and maybe we can provide some solutions for you.

Thanks for the response.

Everything is on the same VLAN and is running through the same switch, however this has been the case since the system was installed 2 years ago and we've never had any problems. The BCM software version is 10.0.1.52.176. Access to network shares and the internet is unaffected.

Latest is that, having changed nothing, the phones have been connected and working for the past hour.

I'm completely stumped. Sorry there isn't much to go on here. Let me know if there's any specific information you think will help.

Reboot the bcm50.

It could be a problem with the LAN port on the bcm.
Give it a reboot first.
