How Can I get a Rel 2 Drive Image ?
I have a blank 80 gig ATA Drive.
My Drive went Bad.

you need to image an original drive unless someone on here has one..

If its not broke tweak it..

Like said in your previous thread, order the replacement drive from Nortel.

I put the bcm in a bucket of water all night.. you know
to do a factory reset and now is making all kinds of weird noises.
Anyone any ideas ?
thanks in advance !

Maybe the CPU fan is splashing water against the outer body and the hard drive needle has rusted already.
Some caps maybe popping too!

May want to open it and have a gander to see whats cookin!.

Instead of a bucket of water, maybe putting it in with a block of dry ice, then slowly pour water onto the dry ice. This will help the capacitors stay dry but still receive the vital lubrication they need. As for the hard drive, since they are sealed in a Mayonaisse Jar in front of Funk and Wagnells for two weeks prior to being shipped, they should not be affected at all by the lack of needed humidity for those capacitors. While this is being done, make sure the top LED is AMBER. This will signal the math co-processor on the motherboard to send an inquiry to the RJ-21x on front of the BCM to see if there are any devices connected. If it finds some, watch the device LEDs, they should be flashing in unison.

Leave the BCM in with the dry ice for 2 hours. This will provide the sufficient lubrication and should be good to go..

But to save time, I would definately get another drive from Nortel. No images are available for the BCM50/BCM450.

Best of luck, and let us know how things turn out..

ps.. I would like to know ITAS's remarks when you explain to them that the dry ice technique didn't work..
