Greetings all.

I have a BCM50 (rls 2.0.2.05e)

My issue is with externally transfered call volume levels.

Users can call external numbers without issue but, if a call is transfered to a salesman in the field, the salesman can barely hear the person that was transfered to them. I have gone through Nortel tech support so all patches are up to date. The had me pull a log and found no issue with the unit. I have contacted the local Telco. They could find no issue with the lines.

The only other refernce I could find on the web refered to the "Loss Package" settings. Mine are set to "Long CO" with a 600 ohm impedance.

Anyone have any ideas. With Nortel and the local Telco saying it is not their issue, I am at a loss.

Thanks,

Mike

That's an inherent issue with trunk to trunk transfers when analog trunks are in use. There isn't much of a way around it short of digital trunks (PRI, T-1), or analog Centrex trunks that let you do the transfer at the CO level.

Maybe someone else has had better experience with this than I.

assuming you have analog CO lines - long COs is the 'best' setting.

try getting centrex transfer on the lines - so that there is no loss induced by the BCM

Those are the first straight answers I have gotten in about 4 months.

This is our only office without centrex.

Thank you for the quick reply.
