BCM50 expansion

I have a customer about 4 hrs away, we are adding an expansion with GATM8. The customer does not want to shut the system down, will I have to shut the system down or not? I don't think I will, but wanted to be sure.

You don't have to but sometimes you need to cause the system don't recognized the expansion

Correct you can add that key and expansion with the system up.

I appreciate the responses, I really think you didn'y have to. Its basically just an ethernet connection. Our TAc group says the I could fry the main cabinet and the MBM.
