Hello,

I would like to as for some help.

I have a problem where when the handset is picked up and the external line number 9 is pressed the set goes busy immediately. after turning up the error messages I get error code 96 and "missing mand ie" which I have found out is missing mandatory information element. The interesting thing is when I dial the numbers before picking up the handset the call is able to be placed.

So there is some protocol error but how can I get more detail to figure out where to look to fix the issue. Just to throw a wrench in the works, the BRI lines used do not make use of SPIDs here in Japan.

The system is on an older version of the software. Ver3.0 I believe and the handsets are Nortel 1120E.

And help would be appreciated.

Hello again.

Thank you for the help.

I changed the time out from 4 seconds to 15 and I still get the immediate busy signal after pressing the 9 key for external line calls.

I think you are onto something regarding a timing issue. I noticed that even when I just dail 9 and then pick up the handset I get a call cleared 96. When I dial 9090 (part of and external number and pick the handset up I gives me invalid number 28 which is a number format error. It seems the system is not waiting for all the dial information to be entered befroe trying to send the dial string.

Some version info:
Version 2.10a.0 .0 Build rpmwin502ag90 Sat Mar 10 00:00:00 JST 2007

Any other ideas?

Thanks.
