Hi ,

I have the integrated ATA port of a bcm 50 6.0 hooked up with a cordless phone.
When ever you dial, if you don't dial fast enough the ata times out and wont accept anymore digits.
The only way i can place a call is to predial the number on the cordless and then press talk, that way the tones come out at a steady fast pace and the call goes through.
I tried applying the latest patches and nothing.
I also switched to a second ata port with the same results

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I too am having the same problem on my BCM450 6.0. Checked a client's BCM450 5.0, same issue. This problem seems to be on all newer BCM50 and BCM450 running 6.0 with analog trunks. PRI and SIP trunks are okay. I am surprised no one else have seen this. Anyone running BCM 6.0 with analog trunks? Would like to hear from you.

Increase the dialing timeout setting found under:
Dialing Plan
General
(default is 4)

Unfortunately, that only works for PRI or SIP trunking. As we are using SIP trunking as well, it works fine.
If I were to dial out via an analog trunk, a 10 digit phone number, with a 1 sec pause between digits, the BCM monitor would show for example 3054. Thats it, though I dialed 3054561234. Of course, if I redial, it shows 3054. This happens on both ATA sets, digital sets, and IP sets. It seems to be a problem with all BCM 6.0! Surprised Avaya haven't addressed this problem as yet. Clients with analog trunks that are printing reports are going to see missing digits when viewing outbound calling :(

Have you tried the Dialing Optns under the individual set programming?
Go to the heading of User Preferences - Dialing Opt'ns and then selecting/changing it from standard dial to pre-dial??

Yes, I have done it that way, which works. But most clients select a line button first then dial the number. This is when the BCM 6.0 issue occurs. I hope they release a patch for this.

I'm having the same problem as well. Actually, you don't even need to dial any digits at all. The system drops the trunk after about 2 seconds after being connected.

I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue with the newer GATM2 modules. They are identified by their firmware level under resources. If it's newer version, firmware will be 30DLd00. The system I'm working on right now even has the latest service update (SU 005).

I think I'll open a ticket with Avay on this one.

With the BCM 6.0, it is normal for it to drop if no CO line is connected to the trunk port. In the case above, the CO lines are connected. Can you confirm the CO is connected to the trunk port on your BCM 6.0?

Yes, the analog trunks are connected and work properly. I'll mess with this one for a while and figure it out.
