Have a BCM50 version 3.0, trying to set up unified messaging to email an external GMAIL account. could only get internal IMAP to work with an outlook 2007 client from where we were hoping to send the message to the external account, however it looks like outlook rules don't want to play nice with IMAP clients as it does not seem to see new voicemails as new incoming messages. Anyone have success setting something like this up before?

For GMAIL use Message Forwarding.

Thanks curlycord, mesasge forwarding was a rule I tried but it would not work, this is a standalone system, not connected to a server/exchange. I tried it with both Gmail as a POP and as an IMAP client set up in outlook (since Callpilot itself would not mail out to anything. Tried gmail or the Callpilot box as the Primary account, none of the scenarios would process new voicemails. I could force the rule to run and it would work on any messages in the account but that was it. The other thing I discovered last night is the embedded player, I presume messages will only play back on systems with the Nortel desktop software already preinstalled? Sorry, very new to this call pilot.

I was not talking about any forwarding rule, I am talking about the option/feature called "Message Forwarding" within Callpilot.

-Requires a UM/Desktop keycode
-Must allow it in COS in Callpilot Manager
-Must enable it within the mailbox
-Create a gmail account for the BCM

Settings example for GMAIL:

Calliplot Manager/System Properties:
smtp.gmail.com
acmerentalsbcm@gmail.com
yourpassword
Port 587
Use TLS
Enable User Admin
From Email: you can leave this blank

Mailbox Manager:
Enable
usersname@domain.com (whatever their email is they want to use)
All New messages
Original Message= None
Use WAV

Thanks, I saw those settings in the Avaya guide for v5.0, but it was not available on the version (3.0) currently installed at this location. GUess I'll have to see if this system has a UM/Desktop keycode.
Thanks, I'll post back when I have a chance to look at the system again.

It started in 3.0 but there was a patch to add it. Still need Messaging licence.
