We upgraded a BCM200 4.0 to a BCM450 6.0 last week with minor programming glitches using DMM 1.1.0. Everything was corrected and working fine and the last step was to add the RAID kit with RAID key code from Avaya. When we followed the steps and installed the 80G drive from the RAID kit, we got an alarm failure that said “the RAID drive is either faulty or too small for the image drive”. This was after we turned on the RAID in Element Manager. The imaged drive from Avaya is 160G (yes we used PUTTY and imaged for 6.0) and the RAID drive is 80G. However Avaya says that since we imaged with 6.0 that is the only portion that should be mirroring. We tried another 80G drive from a spare kit and it also failed. After we tried the 2nd drive we were unable to even get the BCM450 come back up! We had to start over with another imaged drive! Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening? It looks like the RAID drive should be 160G like the imaged drive, but Avaya says no….only the imaged portion will be mirroring to the RAID drive.

I had to image the secondary RAID drive with the 6.0 system so it had the same partitions as the primary drive, and then RAID worked. There is a beta patch out there to correct this problem.

Thanks jwzimm66
Do you know what the beta patch is called? Is it on the Avaya site?
