Started having trouble with my VM system and decided that I should replace the hard drive on my BCM450 r6 with latest (2014) patches.

I tried a Crucial M4 (256GB) drive and it worked in my system.

Just wanted to add this to forum in case someone gets in a pinch and needs some confirmation of a solid state drive that will work.

I use it with the Icy Dock mb882sp-1s-2b 2.5" to 3.5" adapter.

The first thing that I would do is a full backup onto a USB and another computer. Check in the alarms for any sign of problems.

Also check if you lose IP connection as it might not be the voicemail system that is at fault. You might want to consider swapping out the power unit and the older BCM400 ones will work fine and were probably better made as I tend to have more problems on the 450 units than the 400 ones although they do fail as well.

You might also want to consider changing out the complete chassis unit as there is a small circuit board in the middle that connects the power unit with the motherboard and modules that gets hot on the soldered joints and causes random crashes.

This would be the quickest way as you can keep your configuration intact.
