Wondering if anyone else has seen this issue when even pinging the BCM it drops packets or the response is in the 100's of MS, sometime 1000's.

I've even went as far as disconnecting the LAN and plugging directly into LAN1 or LAN2 but the problem is still there, when I use the OAM it works fine!

Defecting LAN ports??? - never seen this personally but first time for everything...?

System has redundant PS and HD, tried powering off each power supply separately in case it was a power issue....still there....

Anyone come across this before?

No but did you try a reboot?

Lan 1 and 2 are like a Hub using one port so I suppose it is possible that the Lan port is going.

on my bcm 1000 it is a netgear lan card! are the LAN ports modular on the 450 or are they built into the motherboard?

yes did a reboot...

Never seen a NIC act in such a manner, gonna try an SU update see if anything changes....

OAm im connecting direct.

I've tried diconnecting it from the network and plugged my laptop into LAN1 or LAN2 but the problem is still there - packet loss

OAM works fine as described above.

Try resetting the network adapter to factory default, then reprogram it to the IP you need.

Is it possible to change the OAM port address and use that on the LAN?

The OAM uses the Default Gateway of the LAN port so you would have the same issues if connecting to the Internet
However I believe only one connection allowed on the OAM so IP sets would be out of the question.

There is an internal network switch on the BFT that provides all three ports - OA&M and the two LAN ports. The switch is configured to present the OA&M port as one subnet and the two LAN ports as another subnet. If the OA&M port works fine, the LAN ports could be expected to be good, too.

Do you get the packet loss when you connect your PC/laptop directly to one of the LAN ports while nothing else is connected to the other LAN port? If yes, does the packet loss occur when you connect to the other LAN port? For this test, could you use the cable that you used for the direct OA&M connection?

By doing this "direct connect" test, you should be able to determine if the problem is caused by the BCM hardware or if it is something "outside" (the cable used to connect the BCM to the network, network ports on the network switch to which the BCM is connected, stale ARP cache on the network switch, bad routing configuration, packet storms on the network etc.).
