Hi , i'm trying to configure (NEW ISTALL) a dsm 32+ unto a bcm 450 R1 under the resources Tab > Telephony resources the status Tab says enabling and goes no further , the TDM sets flash constantly and never come up.

Is there a need for keycodes ?

what have I missed?

stays on enabling untill handset connected.

Did you leave dip switches as default?
Did you set the MBM in the correct slot?

NCSS, NCDS, NCTS

Dip switches are default on on off on on on ,

what do you mean by correct slot?

joezzz

Setting the MBM's in a BCM450 is different to the BCM400/200 system.

All dip switcthes set to ON

The 4 compartments on the BCM450 are numbered 1 - 4, bottom to top.

Slot 1 on a new system is set by default to DSM32+, but can be changed

NCSS, NCDS, NCTS

that's where it sits , and all the dip switches are set to the on position.... I'm drifting away in the ocean (lost)

You said earlier your dip switches are on on off on on on?

If the Resources still say enabling, select the Deconfigure button, then re-configure from scratch, it should then ask you to set the start DN

NCSS, NCDS, NCTS

they're all on , the problem is that the 3.6 documentation is so much more user friendly than the 450's .....I just can't seem to get around

Keep in mind that the BCM450 slots are mapped to a specific BUS (for lack of a better term) in programming. The BOTTOM slot is BUS 10, the next slot up is BUS 20, then BUS 30 and then finally BUS 40 for the top slot.

Make sure you have properly CONFIGURED the right BUS in Telephony Resources. If you have the DSM32 in a slot not CONFIGURED in Telephony Resources, then there won't be any DNs assigned and your digital phones will just sit there and flash.

The documentation on the BCM450 is very specific and precise. I suggest downloading the Task Based Guide to assist in installing and configuring modules in the main cabinet.
