BCM450 Public IP?

I have a BCM450, R1. Their IT guy gave their BCM a public IP address. I can brose to it https, but cannot get to it in Element Manager? What did I miss?

yes, like I said, I can browse to it, and log in and get to the BCM's web page, using https and the public IP address.

Port 5989 for EM access. Just have them forward TCP to the BCM's local ip address.

If you want to access CallPilot, you will also need port 443 opened. If this external address is strictly for your use, they should be able to forward that too but if it's shared, good luck getting port forwarded.

Why on Earth would someone give a 450 a public IP? There's no router, no firewall, nothing to protect it from attacks. If it is actually sitting behind a firewall and using port forwarding then it should have a private address.
