Hi, new to this forum...

I'm a BCM installor, but working on my first 450 and having tons of problems that I'm figuring along the way.

I have a DTM-PRI MBM at my customer's; used to work on his 3.6, that I've migrated to a 450 5.0. The MBM stays at "enabling" in resources. I know that my configs are good; I'm just wondering if I'm missing something. Here is my config:

Bay 1 & 2: DSM16+
Bay 3: DTM
Bay 4: GATM 4

DTM-PRI config: lines 9-31

DMS100 - Descending - Prim. ext.

I know the carrier is good, cuz it worked on the previous 3.6 platform before the switch, with the same parameters. Is there a specific position / order to the MBMs?? All the doc on MBM barely mentions the DTM...

Urgent help would be appreciated!!

Clocking? Forgot to connect the cable? Protocol?

Don't worry......it's happened to all of us at one time or another.

LOL, the older geek that trained me drummed it into my head to "always trouble shoot the physical layer first.

When I had the same problem I realized that its going to say "enabling" until you actually plug the circuit into the BCM.

LOl, you all want to know and make fun of me...

OK, here it is: I set all the dips to on when I took out the MBMs from the 3.6, so I could put them in the 450. Well, probably I was thinking of sports, beer, sex or other places I wanted to be at that time...

Anyway, I flipped the DTI to look at the dips, hidden behind the PS connector (I KNOW they're there), didn't see/register them and in the 450 we go. 3 hours and many (many) swears later... I took it out for the nth time and oh! here they are...

Does the customer pays by the hour...?

Just kidding! At least you figured it out.

yankblan, most of us, after discovering our mistake, would have exclaimed " Damned Telco finally fixed their circuit!

Might as well blame TELCO they always say it is a problem with the CPE (customer provided equipment).

Nah, I don't care. It's a fixed rate (not by the hour), I'm leaving my current employer in a couple of weeks, he makes me work with a broken hand; so I'm glad he'll lose money on this one (but I doubt it)
