BCM450 Password Reset

Evening!

I have a BCM 450, the password has been changed and I have no point of contact with the previous owner.

Is there a way to reset the password? Via hyper-terminal like a Mitel would be ideal, do not want to do anything which could result in loss of license data.

Call your local Avaya vendor, they will need Avaya support to dial in and assist.

No way that I know to reset the password without Avaya's help. There is no option for a level 2 reset without knowing the password. I recently had a 450 with an unknown password that I was able to copy the lic file from, replaced the hard drive with a multi-image drive and then loaded the lic file onto the new drive. I wasn't concerned with saving the programming, but a backup could be restored to the replacement drive in addition to the lic file.

can a soft rest be done on the BCM 450 like the BCM 50 and would that work?

The BCM-450 can't be reset like the BCM-50. You have to know the admin password.
