I confirmed I have a Multi-Image drive. On a BCM450, when I install and boot from the Multi-Image drive I get the following menu;
Quick Configuration
===================
0 - Exit
1 - Reboot into Main OS
2 - Shutdown
3 - Reboot into Safe OS
4 - Transition to Main OS
5 - Configuration Reset
6 - Software Reset

The Power LED is solid Green and the Status LED is solid yellow.
Why don't I get the Multi-Image Quick Configuration Menu?

I don't get the blinking orange/yellow Status LED when I boot from multi-image drive. When I try to connect using Putty(ssh) my laptop nic card state goes from "connected" to "network cable unplugged" back to "connected" and repeats the cycle.

You may have what originally was a multi-image drive, but it appears to be converted to one of the BCM release images. That's why you get the admin menu and not the multi-image configuration menu. You can use the "Reboot into Main OS" or "Transition to Main OS" options to start the actual image.

I just used a multi-image drive on a BCM-50 R5 today. It takes a little while for the network connection to come up, but I was able to Putty into the BCM and load the R5 image. If you're not getting the menu with the option to choose an image to load then the multi-image drive must have been used at a previous time.

You have to be very careful because as part of the installation process the Harddrive pairs with the BCM onboard security. This means if you booted this hardrive up in another BCM to test or confirm how to complete then that is the only BCM the harddrive will pair with until you reimage the drive.

Thanks,
Colin
