I have a BCM450 with 1xDTM ,2x32 port mbm and 1x16 port MBM.

I now need to change the 16 port to a 32 port mbm to max out to 96 extensions

The system wont allow me to change the MBM module to a 32 unless i DECONFIGURE the module first the it will allow me to change it to a 32 mbm.
THE Problem I face is when doing this I loose all programming for the first 16 extension.
Names ,call forwarding ,line setting appearance etc.

ON the bcm4.0 you just changed the card by swapping it and set dips switches and Programming was retained.

Am i missing something.

If was configured as a 32 port first will a 16 port mbm work ok ....?????.

Anybody try this yet

Try set relocation on. The phones will remember what they are so config the card then reconnect the amp and the phones should come back up with their ext. intact. That is the only way I can think of getting around this problem.

Well I set the card as 32 port and put the 16 port card back in in to see if it worked and it did.
Off course I Lost the Programming.
No alarms to say it was the wrong card and i got dialtone and was able to make calls etc..

So I took it out and put in the 32 port card and it was working fine.

Moral of the story is:

Set the card to a MBM 32 port first even if you are using a 16 port card .
Disable off the second 16 port.
This way the card is configured for 32 even though you are using only 16 ports.
This way you dont have to DECONFIGURE the card and loose programming data.
