Problem: The greeting is for the referral line voicemail.
The first 10 words or so are being cut off when calling 800-xxx-3787.
The same voicemail greeting is correct (no words cut off) when dialing DID directly.

I have called the carrier and confirmed that the 8xx number rings to 5537.
Call flow as follows:

800 number 'Ring to' is 5537 - Target Line 398
DID 5537 - Target Line 398

Call rings to Hunt Group 5537 / Target Line 398 (broadcast)
members: 1145, 1146, 1147, 5773 (users do not have a voicemail box)
Que for 30 seconds, then overflow to 2301 (voicemail)

Voicemail box 5537 with Alt Extensions 1145 and 1147

Monitor shows calls ringing to the same line
When I call teh 8xx number, the greeting starts late.
When I call teh DID directly, teh greeting is normal.
This is not a CCR tree/Auto Attendant....only a voicemail box greeting.

Weird one.

As a test...
-Remove 388 from any HG or sets
-Assign 388 to a test phone

Now call both DID an 800 and see if both ring right away.
Then create a mailbox for the test phone and forward to it.

Thanks for the reply. I am scheduled to test further tomorrow (Friday) before noon.

I will let you know what happens.

interesting results from this test...

downloaded 2050 IP softphone from avaya website
built new DN 2105 on phase 1.
built new mailbox 2105 Test mailbox
removed target line 398 from hunt group 5537
added target line 398 to test phone 2105 (target line 398 not programmed to any other DN)
2105 fwd no answer to vmail after 2 rings

Test calls:

to 888 number: Call rings on 2105 2 times, then stops ringing. I hear 2 more rings on my end (calling) then voicemail picks up (several words cut off just as before)

to DID 5537: Call rings on 2105 2 times, then dtops ringing. I immediately hear voice-mail pick up. No delay, no words cut off.

It seems that, as soon as the call is forwarded to voice mail after the 2 rings, the 800 service takes several seconds to hand the call off.
However, if someone actually answers the call, the 800 service knows that the call has gone off hook and answered??

Next step is to call the 8xx provider.

will follow up monday
