BCM450 - Adding more IP sets "Invalid DN"

I have yet to run into a resource issue adding IP sets on a 450.

Trying to add more IP sets but while trying to register them, I am getting message/error "Invalid DN".
16 IP sets are registered, there are no abandoned/offline IP sets in IP Terminal Details.

Resources/Application Resources/ IP Sets - Min=0 Max=MAX - 76 License
Resources/Telephony Resources/Internal IP Sets - Active 16 <--- I assume this is my indicator I need to add more DN's/Range.

Resources/Telephony Resources/Internal IP Sets/Configure
When choosing "Configure" can I assume it is only to add additional sets, therefore existing sets and their existing ranges are touched?

Example -
I see range 401 to 410 is listed under Inactive as T7208/M7208.
I use Configure, Start DN as 401, select 9 sets, once completed those DN show as 1120E/2002.

Donesky?

Hello Curly

many DN's in total are configured on the system?. Are other features using additional DN's?.

I'm only saying this as you are using a 3 digit numbering plan.

Have you tried changing it to 4 digits?

No, it is a live system but I do not think that is necessary.

DN status
Active sets = 16 IP sets, 2 Digital, 8 ATA
Active Application = 50
Inactive - 54 Model/Sets, 50 Application

Thanks

As its a live system, this will give you a few problems.

My only thought here is to run the excel programming record tool and once it's done to look on the work sheets to see if any single digits are set anywhere as these will eat up the numbering range.

I am using the same leading digit as the current sets use.
I don't think it's a number range issue, its a resource issue no? "Resources/Telephony Resources/Internal IP Sets - Active 16 "

Hello Curly

I agree with you on the programing as it looks correct with 76 Nortel IP sets enabled.

I'm guessing that you have tried just using 32 IP sets and rebooting the system and checking that it was patched up to the last release etc?.

The error message is stating that there isn't a spare DN that you are trying to assign.

Just had a thought, can you check if the customer is using Call Park or DN 0 as you can delete the digit and try to assign an IP set within that range?.

It’s been years since I have worked on BCM..

Last time I had resource issue with numbers I looked at ALL DNS to see what they were assigned to..
I was able then to see what numbers were available for me to use
I had then to removed some as applications used up a lot of the numbers..

That then freed up DNS to reassign to ip phones…

That maybe the rout you have to go down..

But by the sound of things you have it sorted now..

Thanks for the reply snowman50

I couldn't update sooner, I have been suffering from heavy brain fog the last week, it didn't help to my blindness in BEM.

I did look at All & Active DN's but did I couldn't understand why I still couldn't use some DN's.

At the time I did not see that one IP phone was DN 3xx while all other were at 2xx
But more importantly, I failed to look further down the Resource list to see that there 2 MBM's tying up the 400 range.
1 MBM DSM32 was used for DMC Cordless
1 MBM DSM32 was used for 2 digital T7100 sets.

The client said they had only 16 IP sets, and why I jumped to IP Sets in Resources so quickly.

I quizzed them on the DMC Cordless, they said they no longer use them.
Since I had spotted the 3xx IP phone, I added 60 ports (per my last image) in the 3xx range. <---this I hadn't done before

I will look at the DMS Cordless cabinet next time out to see what's up with it before I clean up that programming.
