Hi,

I have a BCM 400 with 2 NIC's but it doesn't seem that the routing is working from the networking side (not call routing). I've tried using ROUTE ADD in the DOS window and cann add some static routes to various IP's but when pinging that IP the system will give me a "no route to host" message.

Basically all I am trying to set up is that if a request (anything, port 80, 7000 etc) comes in on IF 1 then it should go back out IF 1. And if a request comes in IF 2 then the reply go back out the same way. Currently that aspect doesn't seem to work properly.

I dont think you can do it on the command prompt.

What are trying to get done?

Well, I have one interface connected to a DSL line and one interface on an internal network. I am trying to set it up so that from the outside I can go to that IP on the DSL line and it will reach the interface there, pull up the BCM manager and also register a softclient. The internal network I am trying to do the same. When outside the network I try to pull up the BCM manager (port 80) the packets are sending to the BCM but no reply comes back. If I do the same on the internal network (192.xx) then it works. My first clue that something wasn't right was when I actually VNC'd into the BCM, pulled up a DOS prompt and tried to ping anything (internal or external IP) I'd see a "no route to host message" - sort of like there's no routing table telling the BCM which direction to send packets.

Can you be a little more specifc about the setup? Which interface is public, which is private? Is the DSL giving you a static IP? etc. etc.

Thanks.
