Dear All,

There is a BCM400 Rls 3.7 installation that I have done. Now there are 82 IP phones connect with fax unified messaging and voice mail. As per my understanding BCM400 is scalable 90 IP users but in this current scenario when I'm trying to connect 83rd phone it does not register with the system and shows an error NO PORTS LEFT. (90 IP clients licenses have been applied to the system with 3/5 split).

Anything that has to be done to allow 90 IP phones to get register in the system.

How many voicemail ports do you have activated?

The 90 signalling channels are split amongst IP sets and voicemail ports. You can run 90 IP sets only if you turn off the voicemail.

Hi,

Currently there are 83 IP phones and 6 Voice mail ports. The remaining 3 Signaling are being used by something else (I don't what it is utilizing these ports).

That's 89 of the 90 signalling channels. Might you have an IP phone that is registered but not online? That still will burn up the signalling channel.

Open up BCM monitor, click on Usage Indicators and you should see how many channels are being used.

I have done that, in the usage tab I can see the signaling channels has been used fully 100%. And in the IP phones tab only 83 out of 90 used.

There is no IP Trunks at all. The only thing they are using IP phones, voice mail and Fax Unified Messaging.

Don't recall, but I believe having fax messaging enabled burns up a channel or two as well.

I think fax messaging burns up 2 channels and that 2 is the max possible.

Well thanks a lot. It really give me good information.
