I posted this in the Shoretel forum as well. Just an experiment I am doing to see if it will work.

I can get extension to extension dialing working, but when I try to make the Shoretel dial out over the BCM trunks the call fails. I can see the call go out the Shoretel but on the BCM side I am seeing strange digit patterns.

For example, I dial 9 210555-1212 from the Shoretel

On the Shoretel trunk tool I see 9+12105551212
On the BCM monitor I see 921055512

It's not losing the last two, but the last two digits before the last digit....if that makes sense :)

So I if dialed 9 2105551234 it would lose the 23.

Not a big deal. Just experimenting with some old systems I have on hand.

Check the public DN lengths on the BCM and also remote access package programming on the BCM to allow the call to tandem from one trunk group to another. Its most likely the public DN length programming chopping digits off.

THanks. Yep, I had set the remote access pckg for the trunks and I set my prefix defaults to at least 11 digits. One thing I noticed in the BCM PRI settings, is that it only has NI as an option and the Shoretel only has NI2. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Have you contacted ShoreTel TAC? The routing translation tables on the Business Communications Manager are not exactly simple. We do have several customers that have coordinated dial plans via direct connections between the BCM and ST.

I know on the Unified Manager side of programming you can leave the protocol box blank cause it doesn't show NI-2 as you stated only NI-1. Then go through set programming and change it to NI-2 there, you will have the option here. I have had to do this many times on the older BCM's pre 4.0 to get NI-2 PRI's to work.

I have done a few of these exact integrations in the real world. If at all possible put the trunks to the outside world in the ShoreTel and have the BCM users tandem through the ShoreTel. If the trunks stay in the BCM you will be limited to the Public Received digits length. Set the received length to 12 if that is an option in the BCM 3.7. It may only be 7 or 10. Regardless if the carrier only sends in 4 or 7 it will still work if it is set to 12. By setting this to 12 it will allow the BCM to recieve 12 digits from the ShoreTel (Or any other PBX) 9+1+NPA+NXX+XXXX and route.
