I have a BCM200 at a remote location and it appears that the vm's to main number are going into an individual's box. How do I change the main number to go back to the general delivery mailbox? Thanks in advance.
Actually, there is a user at the reception phone. She answers all calls there, but claims that when she misses a call, the message ends up in another user's box. I don't believe she is doing any forwarding.
That's easy to test. Call her, tell her not to p/u. Count how many rings it is. Listen for any indication whose Mbox it is. Now we have something to go on.
Thanks for the help on this Deweyhumbolt. I called and it rang 4 times, then went to the particular users voice mailbox. I believe this user is ext 220 and the general is 100.
Ace, I am going to sound stupid on this...but how do I check the PRIME DN on the trunks? In the callpilot the General Delivery mailbox is says 100 and Extension 231.
Prime Set programming is in Telephony Services. It's on the trunk. I still think the trunks may be ringing on x220. Have someone stand at x220 when you make test call. Have them look for flashing buttons or ringing and the display.
It appears that the main line and the line in question both ring when a call comes in to the main. How do I change the prime phone to be the reception, so that the general delivery picks up. Thanks again.
It's not easy following you, but here goes: It sounds like your telling me what I've been saying, at least some incoming calls ring on x220. You need Telephony Services, System DNs, Line Assignment. Then find x220 and eliminate any lines ringing on x220 but it's private DID.
I know Dewey. I am not as familiar with BCM's. I grew up on the Meridian Options. This is what I have: 5 hunt lines that ring each phone (as a key system), and each phone has its own internal extension. I am new here, so I don't know how true this is, but they tell me that the main number used to drop messages into the general delivery box. Now it appears that they are being directed to x220. When you call the main number with no answer, it is fowarding to mailbox 220 instead of 100. I hope I am being more clear. Thanks for the help.
I understand your dilemma, I need help on the M1 product line. All the regulars that post, know your situation, but you need to get into programming and move the ball forward.
They're are multiple ways to fix this, so start with my last post. Plz.
I think this is my problem. I am on the BCM 3.6 web page and cannot find Telephony Services. Am I looking in the right place? I login to the screen and these are my options in the BCM Unified Manager: Configure, Wizards, Install Clients, CallPilot, Documentation, BRU, and Maintenance. Am I in the wrong place? Should I have something else installed? I appreciate the help.
I see this is your first time doing this and I hope you relize that you can really screw the phone system up if you don't know what your doing. you should get a Vendor to show you how to do some of this, or go to an Admin school to become familuar with it.
This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.
This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.
Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
Ace- I understand. I am very good with the Options, but trying to navigate through the BCM's. There is a dumb reason (too simple to mention) why I couldn't see Telephony Services. I now see Services>Telephony Services, but there is nothing expanding from there. Is this the correct place? Trust me, I have been down the road on learning on the job and made my share of mistakes. I am very careful with this, but know enough to change what needs to be changed once I get to the right area and not to touch others. Thanks again for all of your help.
