After upgrading from BCM 3.6 to 4.0 and applying all patches, all voice mail recordings and messages disappeared.
Recorded new AA grettings and Mailbox greetings. Now when trying to access voicemail remotely, ** sits there and then you get disconnected. If you just hit 1 * it will go back to AA greeting.Any ideas? Thanks.

Make sure that all 100 series ports are active. Make sure that they don't say "disabled by user". If that is OK then have you power cycled the system?

Pull the plug and reset it. Of course after you've backed up ur system.

Just in case Murphy's waiting in the hall. :)

O.K. Gotta love this.It turns out ** is working, but, when it wiped out my greetings and messages,it also wiped out all the canned prompts. So when I go into a mialbox to do admin or anything like that there is no Nortel lady telling you what to do.How many times have we said "I wish she would shut up".Be careful what you wish for.Now I need to know if there is a way to get those loaded back in.Thanks.

You might want to try to re-initialize the call pilot.I guess they're still there but you have corruption in your call pilot. It did happen to me in the past and that was the fix.Do the re-install procedure, program a couple of greetings, mailboxes and se if it fix it.

No, feature 982, enter password for operator, digit 1, then type in reinstall, then verify yes.

can i just say that everyone that has just give advice on this thread has not a clue about the bcm !!!!

What the guy was asking is VERY EASY !! all you have to do is make sure you have is ticked in "call pilot" under "config" "system propertys"

when the user phones up simply press *8 then enter the mail box followed by the password !!!!

Its that easy !!!

LOL

Mogatuk,
I guess I'm an idiot too!! I don't see "System Properties" I see "System" and there is not "Call Pilot" in that. In addition *8 gives me an invalid code when dialing it. Are you talking about BCM 400? Also just give your advice. It's appreciated but you don't need to be condescending.

He said the ** was working, but the recording dissappeared.

Have what ticked?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

chiden.....

When the AA answers you press *8

lol

oh and chiden, the reson i put that was some people are dangeras on here tell people to reinstall call-piot, using the install command , and what the hells that about telling him to check the ports !! if the ports was disabled he would have a problem with F981 aswell as thay use the same ports

I don't know what system you have, but on my 60 systems ** gets me to the "enter mailbox number prompt"
