Sorry for the repost... (Noob)

The time displaying on my BCM400 through the Element Manager is about 55 seconds faster than what is displaying on all my sets.

Is there a setting someplace that tells the sets to sync with the BCM? I've even tried unplugging a set and plugging it back in but the time remains slow on my sets.

That's the s/w level. Check the patch history. If not up to date bring it up to date.

Thanks Dasheen....

Last patch was applied in Aug of 08. I'm guessing I'm a little behind.

So you must be suggesting that there may be some patches that address this issue?

yes ur way behind on the patches. Quite possible a patch will fix your issue. load latest SU patch. It'll have all the previous ones in it. make sure to read the readme file as it may have a dependent that is required before loading it.

I have experience with this. I have multiple BCMs in deployment and there always seems to be a differential in the time between handset and system time. Most of these systems are fully patched and it makes no difference. To be honest there is even no correlation to the time differential either. Some are 10 seconds behind others are up to 45 seconds.

Unfortunately I have no advice for you. I just wanted to let you know that you were not alone and that patching to current will not reslove it for you. However, I would suggest you patch up either way.

I would be very interested if you find a solution though.

I appreciate the help guys... thanks very much for this.

Digital sets tend to have the same time as the system time, in my experience.

However, IP sets don't match. They're always out by some amount.
IP sets don't keep the time. Instead, they're sent a message every minute telling them a new string of text to display on the screen. Unfortunately, that update is not sent "on the minute" on many systems, so the clocks seem to be wrong.

I don't know how to fix it and I've tried.

Try setting the Time and Date to Trunk based Caller ID. My IP phones and Digital phones are identical, along with BCM base unit time.

I thinks this may be a hardware specific issue. In my testing I have notice that accros all platforms IP set time can lag by up to 30 second or so.

On BCM50s with digital sets the time is spot on. With BMC200/400 the time on digital sets is alway out. This leads me to believe this could be something hardware related. Although if thats the case I am suprised it is only surfacing now.
