Has anyone been able to use Microsoft Image Writer or other virtual printers with the BCM RCC reporter application?
When I select the Image Writer printer and click submit, there is nothing returned to enter a file name and location.

Not possible as far as I'm aware.

Upgrade to RCC5 for free and you will have more options

Thanks for the response. I failed to mention that the reporter is operating with a BCM450, release 6.0. The patch level is a bit low on both the System and desktop and I didn't find any fixes in the patch read me document. Seems odd that the application doesn't recognize virtual printer drivers. We tried another third party virtual printer and that also did nothing.

It will not work, as it is working as designed.

Exactly what are you trying to achieve and why ?

I have a customer who's requesting reports be scheduled and sent to a file. I wanted to use the Image Writer or another third party virtual printer to send the reports to a network share. There's also a place to add an email server address in the RCC configuration but not sure this can be used for sending reports to an email address. I'm not seeing anything regarding the email entry in the RCC guide either.

Email Server address?

Emailing capabilities are included in RCC 5.0 - the setup is done via the IVU (Install Verification Utility). There is no email facility in earlier versions of RCC.

At the very least, the virtual printers are not being recognized by the code running within Print Caller.
Logic:
Ad Hoc (live) printing should recognize the virtual printers - this is internal to Microsoft's O/S
Scheduled printing is controlled by the Print Caller. The Print Caller also checks to see what printers are installed and will saves the list.

The first thing to try is restarting the Print Caller...

Thanks for all the useful information. I'll try restarting the print service and try the virtual printer again. I found an area in the RCC server configuration to add an email server address and a from address. I'm not sure how this applies to reports being sent via email and can't seem to find it in the configuration guide. Is there a specific guide I can download off the Avaya site that explains how to set up emailing reports?

Thank you for the link and your responses. I'll plan on upgrading the reporter.

Let us know if the upgrade will give you all the functionality that you wanted.
Thank's
