BCM RAID card

I have a brother tech who just installed a raid card in a BCM, the HDD and Mirror lights are amber and the Power/status light is flashing red but all systems are functioning normally as far as he can tell.

He unplugged the top drive and the lights went green (power status solid red) but on reboot the condition went back to amber, flashing red.

any Ideas?

If its a newly installed RAID assembly, it will take a while for the drives to synch up and the status LED will be red for around 10 minutes.
After that the blank drive will start copying from the programmed drive. The whole process takes around 3 hours.

thanks, The RAID was preexisting but the card is new

Maybe he's just not allowing enough time
