Does the BCM support any type of RAID card or does it require their own one?

I thought about doing RAID using just a standard card setup through the BIOS before the system boots that way no software would need to be modified.

also the backup PSU i was thinking of just installing a special Ermax dual PSU system into the box.

Any ideas, nortel parts are just stupidly expensive.

I think the raid controller needs to be the Nortel specific controller so the BIOS can recognize it. You might have issues with non Nortel RAID cards during an upgrade.

Power supplies shouldn't matter - I use aftermarket power supplies as replacements. They're all the same.

Nortel's redundant power supplies are hokey anyways - kind of pointless having a redundant power supply with one power cord. Defeats the purpose of putting the system on two UPS's or two circuits.

If someone has a RAID controler could they please post the FCC id thats written on the card. With that i should be able to work out who makes the card and what model it is.
