I have a BCM 1000 with 3.5 software in my home. I am trying to get my i2004 phone to work from a remote location. It is working on my home network. I also know that to get the phone to work remotely, I need to allow the correct ports through my router. What are the port numbers?
Please help.

7000
2500-2581
Also configure the phone for partial DHCP and point the S1 value to the published IP address of your BCM.
The published IP is default to LAN1 (the interface on the right of the BCM chassis).
You should just put the phone into your router's DMZ.
Even better use your BCM as the router and enable NAT.
Doing this you will not have to open any ports but you will need to use partial DHCP on the phone.

So for my Set IP - will that be the local ip address of the phone? And I know what the netmask is, but what about the default gateway? And should I set the S1 port to 7000?

I have been having the same problem. I am trying to get an IP2004 working from home. My question is why would the Home IP phone be in the DMZ? Doesn't the Phone call out to the BCM? Shouldn't it be the BCM in the DMZ. Or does the BCM have to have it's own static IP address. Are there any ports that have to be open in the home router?

DMZ's leave all ports open and isolate the IP in the DMZ from the rest of the LAN for security reasons.
The S1 address is the STATIC IP address of the BCM's published IP address.
The default gateway is the local ip address of your NAT router at home.

But do you need a Static IP address for the BCM? I have 1 Static IP address which is assigned to a linksys router. The BCM is assigned to the DMZ in the Linksys router but does not have a Static IP address. I was hoping that if I set the S1 address of the IP phone to the Linksys router static IP address this would connect the IP phone to the BCM. Should the IP phone have a assigned IP address that matches up with the BCM IP address or the Home Linksys router IP address.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Get rid of the Linksys.
BCM provides NAT and firewall capabilities.
There is no DHCP client in BCM whatsoever, therefore it does require static IP.
For the Linksys to forward traffic and signalling to the BCM the Linksys would have to forward port specific traffic to a static local IP on the BCM.

I have STATIC DSL WITH A CAYMAN ROUTER, WHAT SETTING DO I CHANGE ON THE CAYMEN ROUTER? I HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED FIVE STATIC IP ADDRESSES FROM MY ISP. ONE OF THE ADDRESSES IS ASSIGNED TO THE BCM. FROM HOME I AM TRYING TO CONNECT TO MY OFFICE AND HAVE FOLLOWED ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BUT STILL CANNOT CONNECT. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO CONFIGURE?
