Just installed a BCM 400 w/4.0 Element Manager. We assigned an ATA to support the modem DN. Calls to that DN RNA(RING NO ANSWER). Anyone out there having this same issue or have any ideas.

Have you enabled the modem?
I believe it is in the section for Network Interface, you set the country and tick enable modem.

The modem is the same as the 3.7 on the front of the BCM.Dial the number modem answers you get the desk top launch element mgr.The 50 is like a RAD.

Yes, on version 4, you have to 'Enable the modem'

We have these working in the UK

I may have mis-read your thread, you said connecting an ATA to the on board modem. We do this in the UK, and in active sets, it should show the ATA device.
Is your ATA not connecting this way?

You are correct about the ATA I meant the modem itself does not have a DN.Where the BCM 50 does.

Yes our modem is enabled. We have DN via an ATA. When we dail either the DID or the DN off the auto-attendant we get a ring no answer.

Have you verified that the ata is ringing by putting a analog set or butt set to the output of the ATA and see if it's ringing. Also call from the ATA to another phone to verify the DN.

Dumb question maybe but is your ATA and old style or one of the new ATA2's. I read somewhere that the old types don't work on the new version 4.0. Don't know for sure that that is the case.
Just a thought.
